Martin Arnold
We’re big fans of the wonderful Austrian artist, Martin Arnold and were delighted to see his film Alone. Life Wastes Andy Hardy (1998) had made it into the Barbican’s Watch Me Move show. Arnold edits found footage from Hollywood movies and Disney cartoons taking short sections of footage and through his fantastic repetitious cut sequences creates experimental works that both disturb and delight.
If you haven’t yet seen the animation exhibition, get down to the Barbican by 11 September to enjoy this once in a lifetime collection of the great and the good. And if you’re free on Thursday 11 August you can join us for a night of Animate Projects’ films and discussions with the makers.
