Animate Projects Observer closing note
Animate Projects Observer was an online blog created by Animate Projects to share news, exhibitions and opportunities in animation and the moving image.
Observer provided a platform to connect with films in the Animate Collection, to keep up to date with Animate artists and their current projects and to open discussions around Animate Projects’ online exhibition and commission programme.
Over the last year we have dipped into the archive to focus on previous work made by Simon Faithfull, Carolina Melis and Tim Webb, to name a few. Highlights from the monthly featured artist have included the experimental films of Martin Arnold, claymaytions by Allison Schulnik and the dark humour of THIS IS IT COLLECTIVE’s Joseph Pelling. And we’ve shared our reviews of Manchester International Festival, Folkestone Triennial, London International Animation Festival and Flatpack Festival.
From July the blog will no longer be updated, as Tarnia Gracie who runs the blog will sadly be leaving the team and Animate will be focusing on developing projects.
